Happy Birthday to The Link App- 2 today!

Today marks the second birthday of my business The Link App and I wanted to celebrate this day with you all!

2

For the past two years, The Link App transformed from an app idea inside my head to a tool for law firms, thanks to those law firms who have adopted the app within their daily use. Helping law firms communicate with clients has been achieved but equally as importantly we have helped to improve customer service for firms clients Continue reading

From Edinburgh to Essex- Why it was important to take my business on tour!

If any of you are following me on social media, you will have no doubt seen that I have been doing a LOT of traveling with my business recently. I thought I would share with you some of the reasons why I did it and what I have learnt from this process.

Where you will usually find me...

A little over 18 month ago, I founded a technology company called The Link App. I did so because, as a lawyer I could see there was a better way of working and that technology could make the difference. As part of The Link App’s commitment to customer service I decided it was important to make it out from behind my desk and begun a series of visits to lawyers in various parts of the UK. The purpose of the visits is not only to find out what lawyers current and future needs are for simplifying client communications, but also to Continue reading

Named in the top ten for Technology in the UK by LinkedIn

12568357_1643897072542992_48947378_nAs you have probably have read before, I am a fan of celebrating the little wins in all aspects of life. It is one of the things I focus on most when I do my public speaking. Anyway January 2016 has given me quite a few things in business to celebrate but the subject of this post is my recent LinkedIn accolade.

I have been named as a LinkedIn Power profile. That means I am officially in the top ten most viewed profiles of all the people in technology in 2015. LinkedIn now has 20million users so to be in the top ten is amazing. I share the list with some key influencers in the Continue reading

My view on Technology and the Future of Law

I recently wrote a piece about my business and my opinion on the future of law, as a guest blogger for youblawg.com and I thought I would share it with you here:

The Link App – a communication tool for modern lawyers

As a lawyer you want to work to the best of your abilities for your clients and to achieve the best outcome on their matters. I know this because I am a lawyer too. This requires a lot of working hours and concentration. Part of that is to keep your clients up to date about what is happening with their cases.

One of the best answers to saving time and being as productive as possible is of course technology. Technology has been on the rise since the beginning of globalization and is I Continue reading

Happy birthday to The Link App!

Today The Link App is one year old and I wanted to mark this occasion with a quick blog post to you all. We are so proud of what we have achieved in twelve short months and we cannot wait to see what the next twelve hold.

When I founded the company a year ago I did do so with passion and determination but even I will admit that I could never have predicted the overwhelming response that we received. This year for me has been the best of my career to date, starting a business is never easy, it’s been tough at times. However it’s been so worth every moment and the highs outweigh the lows multiples times. Continue reading

Crowdfunding- My Journey and Advice

Invest in The Link App
I have had many experiences since founding The Link App last year, some lows but mostly phenomenal highs. The latest in the long line of experiences is crowd funding. Let’s take things in a remotely logical order:

So what on earth is crowd funding?
Crowdfunding dawned a few years ago with reward-based crowdfunding on platforms such as US-based KickStarter. This is where the investor’s return is a tangible product. It’s a great way to get some ideas off the ground, but it’s only suited to a minority of businesses. Continue reading

Why Law Firms Need to Move with the Times

As I proudly begin my journey as a public speaker–having been asked to take part in presentations for various bodies from schools to the Law Society–my thoughts turn to what my message should be. I’m certainly not short of topics and my overall message is about equality and how women can have it all, without making a compromise between glamour and professionalism. However, my upcoming talk for LegalEx is aimed at the legal industry. It will have to be more tailored and deliver a message that a firm can take forward to improve their offering.

So I will start with the thing I know best: my business, The Link App. More specifically, why I created it: the frustration caused by ineffective communication between lawyers and their clients and how technology can solve this problem. Continue reading
